The backbone of healthcare technologies implemented in Hola 5G Oulu

The Hola 5G Oulu project, which is establishing Europe's first-ever private 5G SA network in a functioning hospital, was recently featured in Oulu Health! This highlights the project's significant impact on redefining patient care and empowering medical professionals.

This will be a hospital where doctors can access real-time patient data and medical imaging during consultations, surgeons can effortlessly visualize patient histories during procedures, and anesthesiologists can remotely monitor surgeries from anywhere. This is the future of healthcare, and it's happening now at Oulu University Hospital, thanks to the ground-breaking Hola 5G Oulu project.

By establishing Europe's first-ever private 5G SA network in a functioning hospital, Hola 5G Oulu is redefining patient care and empowering medical professionals. This EU-funded initiative, in collaboration with WICOAR Technologies, Oulu University Hospital, University of Oulu, and Boldyn Networks, leverages cutting-edge technologies to improve patient outcomes and enhance operational efficiency.

Key benefits of Hola 5G Oulu:

  • Efficient Patient Care: Streamlined workflows, reduced administrative burdens, and increased face-to-face time with patients.
  • Innovative Wearable Solutions: Live patient data at doctors' fingertips, improving diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Enhanced Surgical Precision: Remote monitoring and real-time data sharing for safer and more effective procedures.

Oulu University is playing a crucial role in this transformative project by ensuring the smooth integration of these technologies into the hospital's daily operations. Through rigorous testing and user-centric design, they are committed to empowering healthcare professionals to embrace these innovations seamlessly.

Boldyn's secure, high-capacity private 5G network will provide the essential infrastructure for this transformation. Thanks to Pohde, the project will be initiated in Oulu University hospital, which is the northernmost of the five university hospitals in Finland. It will enable seamless, real-time data sharing, remote monitoring capabilities, and the integration of cutting-edge medical technologies, ensuring optimal patient care and operational efficiency.

Oulu-based company WICOAR's innovative wearable solutions will put live patient data directly into the hands of doctors, facilitating faster diagnoses and more personalized treatment plans. These wearables will streamline workflows, reduce administrative burdens, and allow healthcare professionals to focus on what matters most: their patients.

Hola 5G Oulu marks a significant leap forward in European healthcare. By establishing the first private 5G network within a functioning hospital, the project lays the groundwork for secure, efficient patient care through innovative wearable technologies. This will ultimately lead to improved patient care and a more efficient workflow for healthcare professionals.
