Boldyn Networks names Brendan O’Reilly Group COO

6 July 2023 | London, England

Following its launch last week, Boldyn Networks (Boldyn), one of the world’s largest shared network infrastructure providers, today has expanded Brendan O’Reilly’s role in the business by naming him Group Chief Operating Officer (COO). Brendan joined the former BAI Communications from his position as CTO of O2 (Telefónica UK) in 2021 as Group CTO. In the past two years he has taken on increased responsibilities as the company rapidly grew its operations across the US, UK and Europe.

“Over the past two years, Brendan has been instrumental in establishing Boldyn Networks as the neutral host partner of choice for customers around the world. He has also been responsible for the impeccable IT integration of all our businesses into one global organisation,” said Igor Leprince, Group CEO of Boldyn Networks. “Based on his extensive shared network experience, I trust that Brendan will continue to lead, together with our market CEOs and myself, the most important mission we have in hands: delivering flawlessly for our customers.”

Brendan has a proven track record of delivering complex technology strategies in the most challenging environments, from tailored wireless and fibre infrastructure deployments to private networks and sophisticated smart city-enabling technologies. In his role as Boldyn’s Group COO which adds to his responsibilities as Group CTO, he will continue to build the company’s global capabilities to deliver next-generation infrastructure by driving best-in-class operations and knowledge sharing across all markets and solutions portfolios.

This includes supporting key neutral host projects for connected transport like Boldyn’s multi-year agreements with Transport for London, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s New York City Subway system, and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency subway system. Above the ground networks for connected communities like LinkNYC, the largest free public outdoors Wi-Fi network in the US. Connected cities like Sunderland, and major connected venues like the upcoming iconic Olympia destination in London, both in the UK.

“I’m delighted to take an expanded role as COO at a time when Boldyn Networks is becoming the leading neutral host player in the Northern Hemisphere. We like working alongside our customers to reimagine what we can achieve together with future-proof, sustainable networks”, said Brendan O’Reilly, Group COO of Boldyn Networks. “By collaborating with our business leaders in each region, we can understand and bring an innovative approach to every single challenge, with focus on an interconnected future.”

Brendan is also Boldyn Networks’ ESG executive sponsor, a Board member of the Wireless Broadband Alliance, and a member of the UKTIN Advisory Board. He has decades of experience in the deployment of 5G and neutral host technologies, including his tenure at Telefónica’s O2 where he led the launch of its 5G network. He’s based at Boldyn Networks’ headquarters in London, UK.
