Apogee Enhances the Customer Experience with Appointment of Higher Education Industry Veteran David Hinson as Campus Chief Information Officer

Hinson brings impressive track record to support higher ed leaders as they build agile IT strategies for student success in 2021 and beyond

Austin, TX, August 18, 2021 – Higher education managed technology and IT services leader Apogee today announced the appointment of David Hinson as Campus Chief Information Officer. He will provide essential hands-on, strategic leadership at higher education campuses it serves across the country. Hinson brings three decades of experience in IT planning and management to the role, including executive positions at Drury University, Springfield, MO, and Hendrix College, Conway, AR.

As Campus Chief Information Officer, Hinson will work closely with schools to develop future-proof technology strategies and designs for campus IT service delivery. He will also work with engineering, IT, product, marketing, and sales teams to expand the company’s IT service offerings and ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Hinson served in several capacities while at Drury University, including Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff, COO, and CIO, before joining Apogee. He was responsible for the strategic vision, leadership, planning, and management of the university’s infrastructure and software systems, including connectivity, institutional business support, enrollment management, classroom technology, and online delivery of education and instructional innovation.

Before Drury University, he served as Director of Technology at the Yeshivah of Flatbush, the largest independent Jewish Day School in North America. He was also Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Hendrix College, where he advised and reported on information infrastructure, instructional technology, and institutional business support and research. He has held operations, leadership, and engineering roles at Sumner Systems Management, Inc. and IZEA. Hinson has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Tennessee Technological University.
