I’ve been with Boldyn Networks for just over three months and most of our team is also relatively new, so the team is really dynamic and has a lot of energy. From leaving university to going into logistics, then engagement roles which helped shape my career, I’ve been led here. Now I take responsibility for Europe and their student direction, but also global operations and the commercial side, so I’m pulling on the key parts of my career and applying it to Boldyn Networks.
What led me to Boldyn Networks was the opportunity to do something really exciting. There are few chances in life where you get that mix of almost a start-up – setting up in Europe and the US – a new organisation – designing that target operating model from scratch – and experiencing a big transformation. We’ve got so many plates spinning, and every now and then, we think about the enormity of the change we’re making and everything we’re delivering. The energy and enthusiasm and range of personalities at Boldyn Networks really came across and I thought, this is going to be really fun.
I’m responsible for all of operational; the IT operations, the delivery of the service, how you consume IT services as an end user, your laptop, email, access to SharePoint, all those services, I’m responsible for globally. I’m in the process of putting a global team together for projects going forwards.
Now we’re running the rebranding project. There are lots of technical deliveries needed. It’s obviously a really exciting time and the new style captures our enthusiasm and vision. We want to empower our users and doing a brand relaunch at the same time is such a great way to say, actually we’re going to do something exciting here.
Bringing the team together and seeing how we gel has been great. We’re collaborating to design an IT organisation that can be bold and dynamic, and the very best for our user base. We want to give a first-class IT service and empower the user to get the best out of the best tech. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity really, and that’s hugely exciting and motivating for us all.
The culture we have is very collaborative and supportive. In fact, I’ve never known an organisation more supportive of its employees. There are places I’ve worked before where I felt like an asset, but there was no real care, but here at Boldyn Networks, we’re much more of a family, and I think that’s because they started small. We know it’s a work family. It’s not just about doing a job, it’s about being there for each other, and that comes across on this team.
